Windows 8 & 8.1

If you have lost your Windows 8 product key but it is still installed or at least still on some kind of a working computer, it’s pretty easy to decode using the right software.

While lots of key finder programs advertise that they can find and decode your Windows 8 product key, I’ve found that lots of them function not get it done correctly, creating a completely inaccurate Windows 8 product key.

I’ve tested Belarc Advisor, the disposable program I suggest within my tutorial, and realize that it will give you the right Windows 8 key for the installation.

This procedure works as well for just about any edition of either Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, plus Windows 8.1 Update.

Windows 7

Searching for your Windows 7 product key? As with other product keys, will still be around if Windows 7 continues to be installed, but is encrypted.

Most key finder programs work great with Windows 7, but I prefer LicenseCrawler for many reasons.

Remember that you must be running Windows 10 version 1809 or version 1903 to see this insurance policy.

By default, the insurance policy isn’t configured, so to disable the feature, you need to switch it to Enabled. Because the policy explains:

“If you enable this setting, users will not be able to push Apps for this device in the Microsoft Store running on other devices or the web.”

The other method requires you to manually setup the policy in the Registry Editor. Start by launching the app ¡§C to get this done, type regedit in the Start menu. Browse to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\PushToInstall

When the path does not exist, create it manually by right-clicking the main folder and then going to New > Key. Use the names in the address to create the brand new keys.

When you are there, click on the right pane and visit New > DWORD (32-bit) Value. Call the brand new value:
DisablePushToInstall

Depending on the value that you share with this new item, the Push to Install service could be enabled or disabled. For example, should you set the value to 0, the Push to Install service remains active, but if you place it to 1, the services are disabled. Microsoft to finish Windows 10 Mobile updates and support in December

Microsoft notes “some services including photo uploads and restoring a device from an existing device backup will continue to work for as much as another 12 months from end of support.”

Microsoft previously ended Windows Phone 8.1 support on July 11th 2017, therefore the end of Windows 10 Mobile support isn’t unexpected. First Windows 10 build for Foldables appears on Microsoft’s servers
