If you’re part of the Windows Insider enter in the Dev channel along with a new cumulative update has become up for grabs from Windows Update, that’s not a brand-new build.
Windows 10 cumulative update KB5003837, which brings the OS build to 21382.1000, is just supposed to help testing the servicing pipeline, though Microsoft warns that some users may get an error when attempting to set up this new update.
“Some Insiders with the Arabic, Greek, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, and Russian languages installed may see KB5003837 fail with error 0x80070002 the very first time attempting to install the update. It should succeed on subsequent attempts,” the organization explains.
What’s new in Windows 10 build 21382
As you can easily determine in the OS build, this cumulative update is aimed at Windows 10 version 21382, which itself comes with several significant improvements.
One of these is support for HDR in color managed apps, with a brand new option added under Properties > Compatibility tab.
Microsoft has also further polished the experience using the built-in Device Manager within this build.
“Device Manager now has the opportunity to view drivers alongside of devices. The new driver focused “Devices by drivers”, “Drivers by type”, and “Drivers by devices” views enable users to see, install, and take away drivers, while the new “Add drivers” action enables users to add and install new drivers across all applicable devices. Managing drivers directly is more intuitive in many situations than working with them through the devices they’re placed on, so we hope that developers and power users alike will love the added flexibility. This change was added in Build 21343,” Microsoft explains.
Just like the new cumulative update, Windows 10 build 21382 is specifically aimed at Windows insiders enrolled in the Dev channel.
